November 11, 2007: The Associated Press quoted NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann in an article highlighting efforts by University of Arizona researchers “to automate the analysis of online jihadism.” Kohlmann labeled the effort “absolutely necessary.” November 5, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah spoke at American University about his book Merchant of Death October 31, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah was interviewed on the Hugh Hewitt radio show to discuss the NEFA Foundation's latest report on the Muslim Brotherhood and the influence of the Brotherhood both in the United States and abroad. October 28, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah was quoted in a Dallas Morning News editorial on the invaluable evidence that emerged during the HLF trial. NEFA's HLF exhibit library was lauded for the "eye-opening look" it provides at that evidence. October 28, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann was quoted in a United Press International article on the most recent Osama bin Laden audiotape. Kohlmann called Iraq Al-Qaida's "greatest achievement and its greatest failure." October 26, 2007: Nationally syndicated columnist Cal Thomas authored a piece in The Washington Times examining the evidence revealed during the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial. Thomas drew attention to the “thoroughly researched and documented” HLF exhibit page compiled by the NEFA Foundation. October 23, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah delivered a presentation at George Washington University about his book Merchant of Death. October 23, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann was quoted in a NBC News story on Osama bin Laden's latest audiotaped message; in the story, Kohlmann labeled Bin Laden's criticisms of the Iraqi insurgency "quite amazing." October 21, 2007: A Washington Post review called NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah’s book Merchant of Death a “riveting investigation of the world's most notorious weapons dealer.” October 19, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann testified this week as an expert witness in two separate terrorism trials on behalf of the U.K. Crown Prosecution Service and New Scotland Yard's SO-15 Counter Terrorism Command at the Old Bailey in central London. The two cases--Regina v. Samina Malik and Regina v. Hassan Mutegombwa--dealt with "homegrown" terror cells based in the United Kingdom, including defendants linked to the cell behind the failed July 21, 2005 suicide bombings in London. [Update]: Both Malik and Mutegombwa have been convicted. October 16, 2007: George Mason University hosted NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah for a discussion of his book Merchant of Death. |
