February 15, 2008: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah was quoted in a Voice of America report on the killing of Hezbollah's Imad Mugniyeh. Assessing Mugniyeh's level of involvement in Hezbollah at the time of his death, Farah stated that it was "highly unlikely that he had simply gone into retirement."

February 14, 2008: Following a Daubert hearing, a Connecticut federal judge approved NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann as an expert witness for the government in the case against Hassan Abujihaad, a former U.S. Navy sailor indicted on terrorism and espionage charges.

January 30, 2008: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann, identified as "one of the world’s foremost internet terror experts," was quoted in a news.com.au article about terrorist groups' use of "shadowy, mysterious, almost anonymous, figures," such as Baghdad sniper "Juba," in order "to spread their message of hate."

January 28, 2008: NEFA Contributor Jeff Breinholt participated in a panel discussion on Capitol Hill about the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals' ruling in the Boim case. 

January 26, 2008: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah authored a Washington Post article (registration required) examining the "serious, often underestimated, threats to our national security" posed by "the FARC's criminal and terrorist activities, coupled with [Venezuelan President Hugo] Chávez's institutional support."

January 24, 2008: NEFA Contributor Jeff Breinholt authored an article on lawfare ("efforts to achieve...military objectives through legal tools") that was published in Family Security Matters. In the piece, Breinholt assesses the recent lawsuit filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights against former DOJ attorney John Yoo, which he labels "absurd."  

January 20, 2008: The Boston Globe interviewed NEFA Contributor  Jeff Breinholt for an article examining the U.S. war on terror financing. Breinholt commented: "Before 9/11, there were basically three people [at the Justice Department] responsible for terrorist financing, and I was one of them."  

January 17, 2008: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann published an article in the Sentinel, the monthly journal of West Point's Combating Terrorism Center. The piece examines case studies in which users on extremist Internet forums become suicide bombers in the service of Al-Qaida in Iraq. 

January 16, 2008: BBC News quoted NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann in a story on Younis Tsouli (a.k.a. Irhaby007), who pled guilty in July 2007 to inciting murder for terrorist purposes. Kohlmann testified as an expert witness in Tsouli's trial.

January 16, 2008: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann was interviewed for an extensive Times Online (London) article on Younis Tsouli (a.k.a. Irhaby007).

January 15, 2008: The New York Sun interviewed NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann and highlighted his paper on Al-Qaida's "MySpace" websites, which was published in the Sentinel, the monthly journal of West Point's Combating Terrorism Center.

January 7, 2008: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann testified as an expert witness in a civil lawsuit filed against Syria in U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. by the families of two U.S. contractors murdered by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq.  

January 2008: NEFA's "Target: America" report "The East Coast Buildings Plot" is highlighted as a "helpful resource" in the January 2008 edition of the Security Director's Report.

December 28, 2007: The Bosnian-Serb paper Glas Srpske labeled NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann “one of the leading experts on international terrorism” in an article discussing the recent death of two Bosnian mujahideen in Iraq.

December 27, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann discussed the implications of Benazir Bhutto's assassination on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

December 21, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah and NEFA Contributor Jeff Breinholt participated in a FrontPage Magazine symposium on the Muslim Brotherhood. Farah argued that the Brotherhood has adeptly "couch[ed] its extremist agenda in moderate language," while Breinholt asked, "why is there such a debate about a group whose manifesto describes its goal as 'jihad'?"

December 20, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann appeared on MSNBC’s “Tucker” to address Al-Qaida’s promise that Al-Qaida number two Ayman al-Zawahiri would answer questions in an online forum.

December 19, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann was quoted in an Associated Press article on Al-Qaida's invitation to journalists to submit questions to Ayman al-Zawahiri.

December 16, 2007: Clips of a BBC interview with NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann were featured in the latest As-Sahab/Ayman al-Zawahiri video.

December 13, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann was quoted in a Washington Post article on the "maturing" of Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Kohlmann labeled AQIM's propaganda wing "remarkably sophisticated."

December 13, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann was quoted in a Christian Science Monitor article on the Algeria bombings; Kohlmann assessed that the attacks were carried out by a "jihadi movement that is flailing about wildly in the hopes of replicating the comparative success of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq."

December 12, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann testified as an expert witness in the Danish prosecution of the Al-Aqsa Foundation, which has allegedly funneled money to Hamas.

December 12, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah and NEFA Contributor Jeff Breinholt participated in a special panel on the Holy Land Foundation and the Muslim Brotherhood on Capitol Hill. A Congressional Quarterly article summarized Farah's presentation and highlighted his argument that "you have to create a narrative" when presenting such a complex case to a jury.

December 4, 2007: NEFA Senior Investigator Evan Kohlmann testified in the Boston trial of Muhamed Mubayyid et al. as an expert witness. Under examination by federal prosecutors, Mr. Kohlmann explained how particular Muslim charities 'in the areas where Muslim holy warriors are trying to reclaim Muslim land provide money 'not just to refugees but to the fighters themselves.'

December 2, 2007: According to The Washington Post, NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah's book Merchant of Death was one of the best nonfiction works of 2007.

December 1, 2007: A New York Post editorial on the new Usama Bin Laden tape cited NEFA’s translation.
